Terms of Use – WordLex

These terms of use (the "Terms") govern access to and use of the WordLex application.

1. Purpose

WordLex is a word game application that allows users to play matches, improve their language skills, and view their statistics.

1.1. Free service financed by advertising

WordLex is a free application financed by advertising. By using the application, you accept that advertisements are displayed during your use of the service.

The display of personalized advertisements requires your consent, which is requested when you first launch the application via a consent management interface (Google UMP). You can modify or withdraw your consent at any time from the application settings.

2. Service access

Access to certain features requires creating a user account. The user agrees to provide accurate and up-to-date information.

3. User account

Each user is responsible for keeping their credentials confidential. Any activity performed from the account is deemed to be performed by the user.

4. Usage rules and prohibited behaviors

The user agrees to:

• not use the application for illegal, fraudulent, or malicious purposes
• not disrupt the operation of the service (attacks, scripts, bots, spam, circumvention attempts)
• respect other users and game rules

4.1. Use by minors

Use by minors is under the responsibility of legal guardians.

4.2. Prohibited behaviors

The following are strictly prohibited:

• Cheating or any attempt to manipulate the game (use of bots, scripts, voluntarily sharing the word to guess, unfair collusion between players)
• Use of abusive, discriminatory, hateful, or threatening language
• Identity theft
• Creating multiple accounts to circumvent sanctions
• Inappropriate profile content (usernames, descriptions, profile pictures): any explicit, offensive, or inappropriate content is strictly prohibited

4.3. Post-match chat

Messages exchanged do not constitute encrypted private messaging. They are stored for 15 days for moderation purposes. Any abusive, offensive, sexual, discriminatory, or unlawful content is prohibited.

4.4. Sanctions

In case of violation, WordLex reserves the right, without prior notice, to:

• Delete messages
• Temporarily suspend an account
• Permanently ban a user or IP address
• Cancel fraudulently obtained scores or games

User IP addresses may be recorded and used to prevent abuse, spam, and protect the integrity of the service.

5. Intellectual property

All elements of the WordLex application (name, logo, interface, content, game rules, databases) are protected by intellectual property law. Any reproduction, extraction, copying, or unauthorized use is prohibited.

6. Account deletion

The user may delete their account at any time from within the application. Deletion is permanent.

7. Liability

WordLex is provided "as is". The publisher does not guarantee the absence of errors or interruptions.

The user is solely responsible for the content they publish and the statements made in the chat. The publisher cannot be held responsible for the behavior of other users.

8. Service changes

WordLex reserves the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time.

9. Changes to the Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law.
